Finding the Perfect Razor

Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but there is something so awesome about a clean shaven man at important events. Don't get me wrong, there is something about a man with stubble/beard too, but when it comes down to it, a clean shaven man meeting your family for the first time is awesome. Well, Tanner and I are on a traveling extravaganza! We were just in San Diego for a family reunion and now we are headed to Portland, Oregon for our immediate Ainge Family Reunion at the cabin (my favorite place in the world). Tanner was meeting some of my family for the first time, so I wanted him to look clean cut! As we were looking for a razor, T reminded me that he needed a razor that wouldn't cut him and make his super sensitive skin hurt. Nothing better than a #smoothsummer razor from #collectivebias. We found the Gillette Flexball Razor at Walmart and it was perfect!

When we were at the store, Tanner found himself picking out the Gillette Flexball Razor. He loved the fact that it was catered to sensitive skin, which he has. He has a hard time finding something that doesn't irritate his skin.

Tanner was weary at first to try this razor because so many of them have not worked out, but this was one perfect! I personally love kissing his soft face after he used this razor. We were both so happy about finding a good razor!!

We found this razor by the Health and Beauty Section in Walmart in La Mesa, CA. There was a whole specific section for them! They are brand spankin new! Go grab one today!

//Old Post// Daydreaming&Writing

Since I have so many new readers and friends, I thought, while I'm on vacation for awhile I would rewrite some of

my old posts. It is so funny to see how much this blog, me and my writing has developed and changed-and to see how much it has stayed the same!  This post is one that I wrote in 2012 titled 'Daydreaming&Writing (Look on Reader All Time Favorites on the right side panel) 

I am in San Diego for a family reunion right now and this photo is from a long time ago in SD--how fitting! Love the beach sunsets. 

I am one of those people who pays attention to the little mundane aspects of the world around them. Where ever I am, I am aware of what's going in nature, in myself and in other people. I have learned that I try to drink in the world around me (and the world in my head) with all of my five senses. I pay attention. I am ready. I try to keep my senses peeled because I never know when they will ring immensely.
I have recently been trying to squeeze all the junk of the world out of my head. I have been trying to clear out the mental garbage (negativity) so that I can be in the moment and breathe in the beauty of everything. Because there is beauty in everything (yea, I'm a hippie from oregon. Whats up). Even the little things.When you see the world for it's beauty, you capture images that you might otherwise ignore. 

I have learned that I absolutely, positively, most definitely love to write. I dream of writing self help books, realistic fiction books, young adult books. I hope to one day actually accomplish this dream. But I love to write because it allows those elements of a quality person, those elements of good things, of memorable things, to be written down.

Writing lets me react in the way that I want to. 
Sometimes I can't always act like a child in every day life. I can when I am writing. I can write in any behavior, thought, or way that I want to. 
I have notebooks galore in my room. Notebooks of letters from missionaries, cards from birthdays and other random occasions, handouts/lessons/talks from church, I used to collect comics (judge me) so I have those, random assortment of sweet little things to remember. I have a dream journal, a journal with ALL of my thoughts, a quote journal from books I read, a general conference journal, a church journal, a journal for the script I am writing, a password journal, a poem journal. Are you sensing a pattern yet? :)

Once in awhile I get seized by an idea for a piece of writing. In all of my watching, in all my observing (which I do very well at by the way. I should be a professional observer), I receive a revelation for a play, book, poem, blog post. And I write it down. Because if I don't, I forget it. With all the millions of thoughts rummaging through my brain, I have to write it down!

Should I even dare talk about all the lists that I possess?
What is it about lists? Seriously.
Maybe it's the need for humans to accumulate stuff; that mental celebration one gets when they can cross it off the list. (or is that just me? awkward...)

In my Language Arts Methods course (essentially, teaching children how to read), we have a "writer's notebook" which consists of many aspects of writing. I love it. Weird, I know. The assignment is to turn in aspects of writing. Oh, okay. Done. 
In this Writer's Notebook, I get the chance to include ALL of these things that I write about it. It's perfect. Lists, book ideas, words, etc.

One of the most important aspects of writing, for me, is about the memories, though.
Memories have a way of embedding themselves into your heart and never leaving. Writing allows those memories of mine (believe me, I have many) to soak in the physical surroundings around me.

So, my friends, that is why I write on here. That is why I started this blog in the first place. I realize that often people don't want to read what I have to say (let's be honest, most people probably don't), but I write because I love it. And don't get me wrong, it's not all deep and crap (yea, super deep word, huh?). But writing, for me, is therapy.
My life is a constant adventure. Boring is never a word used in my life. I don't think anyone has ever described me as such either. 
So, I write. For memories. For healing.
...but mostly because I just love to do it.
(oh, and cause I'm super funny.)

Interview T-Money/Anniversary Post

Well, we did it. Tanner and I survived one year of marriage.
To celebrate, I am going to show you a couple of our engagement photos, bridal photos, and wedding day photos. Our photographer, Brooke, was absolutely fabulous. Since I know that all of you read Tanner's incredibly sweet letter to me from yesterday, I thought I would let you all know a little bit more about T Money. Don't you think we all need to get to know him? I have spent this past year learning and understanding his quirks, goodness and love. I am grateful for a winner husband.

All of these are his words, specifically, just so you know (My response is italicized and in parentheses) ha. These are such guy responses. I had to get these answers out of him. "I need more than two words, Tanner!" I kept yelling at him. It was quite interesting and entertaining :) 

What is your full name? 

"Mark Tanner Charlesworth. Age 23. Married. 6'3''. Incredibly Good Looking with chiseled muscles. "

What is your current job? 

"I'm in school full time during the year, but, I am the Assistant Race Director for Epic Relays."

What are you going to school for? 

"I am getting my Accounting degree with a pre-dental minor, with the goal of going to Dental School. 

My dream school for dental is OHSU in Portland."

What was your first impression of Sierra (me)?

"I thought, 'This girl is crazy, but she's pretty.' You made me play a stupid envelope game. I didn't know anyone there. It was the most stupid game ever."  (I thought the same thing about him) 

How accurate do you now think it was? On which counts do you think you were totally wrong and on which were you right?

"Yep, she is crazy. But also pretty." (Ya win some, ya lose some). 

How many kids do you do want? 

"No more than 4. But I am not ready for kids; a wife is enough to handle for now." (HEY!) 

What is your favorite food? 

"Pizza. Fire baked pizza, specifically. My favorite restaurant is Pizzeria 712 because, well, it's the most amazing pizza in the world." (Seriously…I'm drooling now just thinking about it.) 

What do you fear the most? 

"Bees. F*** Bees. "(It's the funniest thing in the world. He will jump off cliffs, go bungee jumping, but he sees a Bee and FREAKS).

What are your 5 favorite hobbies? 

"Rock climbing, fishing, watching/playing sports, reading, playing music." 

What is your dream vacation and why? 

"I have a lot of dream vacations, right now it's Thailand because I want to hold a tiger. And they have really good rock climbing."

Describe yourself in 5 adjectives. 

"Loud, Energetic, Awesome, Intelligent, Athletic. "(He could make a list of fifteen, cocky son of a….. I could add some words, too…) 

What is your favorite movie of all time and why?

"Top Gun. Because my grandpa was a fighter pilot for the Navy. I watched it so much as a little kid, I wore the VHS out." (Plus he looks exactly like Iceman/Val Kilmer! See here. It's creepy.) 

Can you give me a mock session of how you would discuss sex education when you have a child?

"I will give my sons the same advice my father gave me: 'Keep the pecker in the pants, boy.' My daughters will wear chastity belts. That's it. Sierra can do the rest." (Awesome. Thanks, babe.) 

If you won the lottery, what are the first three things you would do/buy? 

"1. Build a house with land. 

2. Buy a tiger and/or leopard…maybe some wolves (he is grinning at me right now) 

3. Live off of the interest and not let anyone know I was rich. My kids will earn their keep."

If your house was on fire and you had a chance to grab only five things before leaving, they would be…

"My wife, my dog, my guns, my guitars, and my laptop." 

If you believed in reincarnation, what would you come back as? 

"That's simple…my spirit animal clearly is a Jaguar." (I am dying right now. What a nerd). 

Best Decision you ever made?

"The haircut I got today. Just kidding. Marrying my wife. That's a trick question. I can't say anything else, but I wouldn't say anything else. Cause I loooooove you" (He sang that to me. awwww). 

I am so lucky to have this guy around, don't ya think?

A Letter to My Wife//Guest Post by Tanner

T Money overtook my blog for today. I about lost it while reading this. He wouldn't let me read this until I posted it today. How perfect.

Sierra is unaware that I have hacked into her blog with the simple purpose of me posting this about her.

You see, I have been out of town for over a week on a business trip. While I may have one of the coolest jobs anyone could have and while, yes, my job presents great hours, scenery, experiences and fun... that does not take away how much I miss my wife when she is unable to join me on these trips.

Over the past week I have enjoyed Denver, and then the mountain rages between Canon City and Crested Butte. The scenery in the mountains around Cottonwood pass is simply breath taking, huge mountain tops, pine ranges, open fields, lakes and rivers. I am the type of person that always seems to be in a hurry. I have a huge love for the outdoor world and everything it has to offer (except bees I HATE bees) while I enjoy the outdoors and the scenery I look at it and say okay lets see the next thing. My wonderful wife Sierra moves at a slower pace than I do, taking everything around her in and simply enjoying those moments.  I decided that I would learn a lesson from her and take advantage the time that I had in the mountains of Colorado. I stopped the truck, got out and took pictures, and just breathed in the mountains around me.

Sierra has taught me so many things in our nearly one year of marriage.  As I sit here and try to put them on this page I cannot even comprehend how many things there really are.  I am going to list a few of my favorite things about my wife that have crossed my mind as I have been away from her.

The world deserves to see how incredible of a schoolteacher Sierra is. She has this ability with the kids that you just can’t learn in college. The way all of her students look up to her with respect but view her as a friend at the same time is amazing. She truly has a gift to teach, connect and bond with her students.

Sierra is a dreamer and a huge part of her dreams are the travels that she wants to take. Sierra and I both share a love for adventure and travel. Whether that be the random hikes and fishing trips I talk her into, the weekend getaways, camping, or even the countries we want to visit together.

She scratches my back at night to help me fall asleep, even when she is super tired.

She allows me to be me! Whether I spend the day and or night fishing, rock climbing or sitting on the couch she does not try to squash my favorite things to do, or discourage me from the new ones I want to try.

Do I even need to mention how beautiful she is? I mean, come on, people, she’s a total babe! Her hair, her smile, her booty… she’s a dime piece if there ever was one!

If you’ve never truly loved someone then you might not understand what I am saying here, but even through the times that I get so frustrated with myself, the world and particularly my wife, no matter what is said in anger, or how mean I act, I can’t get over how much I love Sierra. Our fights do not happen often. My wife is extremely kind hearted, loving and so good to me, but on those days no matter how upset I am, it does not over power the love that I feel for Sierra.

The mere fact that I married Sierra is a testament of how wonderful and special she is. Not that I’m a “huge catch” but I do tend to be very non-committal and somewhat of a drifter in mindset. I do not settle down easily, I did not intend on getting married and then Sierra walked into my life and changed me, not in a bad way. In fact change is the wrong word. Sierra bettered me. She made me see despite all the adventures and things I wanted to accomplish I didn’t have to do them alone, she showed me that they could be even better if I have her to share in those adventures and goals that I had.

Though we have no intention of having children any time soon I know that Sierra will make and incredible mother. She has patience and an understanding heart that continues to amaze me every day.

Not only is Sierra my dear sweet wife, she is also my very best friend in the whole wide world. Sierra is honestly one of the most loyal friends I have ever seen. She constantly is checking on her friends through phone calls, texts, meeting up with them as much as possible just to make sure they are doing well. She continues to do this even when it is not reciprocated the same way back to her. Relationships are so very important to her. There is no “half-assed” friendships with her. If you are her friend there is almost nothing that she wouldn’t do for you.

Obviously I could go on and on about Sierra. She is truly amazing in my eyes and I am so thankful for her in my life. We don’t have a perfect marriage and we certainly get in disagreements but at the end of the day, no matter what is going on, I know that I can count on her. She loves me and I know that. Even though we are such independent people we both rely on each other. As cliché as it is Sierra truly is my better half. She is my everything and I hope she knows how much I appreciate her and all that she does for me.  

Sierra, I love you and want to thank you for being my freaking cool wife!

//Weekend Getaway// Dream Home

This week I have had some serious alone time because T Money has been out of town. I have a very love/hate relationship with being alone because I am an introvert and I truly love my alone time, but it gets kind of old after awhile.

My good friend, Jen, and I went on a last minute overnight stay to a beautiful home in Midway. No, you guys. I don' think you understand. If I were to decorate a home right now, it would be so similar to this. I love the style of this home--kind of a vintage, chic cottage. Everything to the little decorations to the furniture is exactly what I dream about. I am a sucker for white, though.  It was so nice to just get away. The kids just swam in the pool all day and we enjoyed some good conversation. The pool was right next to the house and from the back patio you could see the mountains, tennis courts, basketball courts, sand volleyball, a dog park, park for the kids to play at, and a big path for walks and bikes. It was perfect!  Look how absolutely gorgeous this place was!
