Maui Guidebook: Lava Rocks & Snorkeling Cove

I love to travel. I love to explore. I love to document these explorations.
If any of you follow me on InstagramTwitter, and Snapchat (sierrasview), than you definitely have noticed that we have been in Maui, my heaven, for the past 3 and a half weeks (perks of being a teacher, y'all!) and you may have noticed that I love to document. Despite my father's worries of "posting too much" I have loved it here. Even though a tropical storm has overcome us for a large portion of the time, it has not diminished our fun. I am so lucky to have experienced Maui many times in my lifetime that I am starting to feel like I "know" the place (and not feel like such an annoying tourist).
Because of the documentation on my phone and through my videos, I am going to do a few posts of some of our favorite times (sorry, not sorry).
The first week and a half, we had our good friends Carli and Josh join us in Maui. It was so fun to have them here because we got to play "tour guides" for a little bit. They wore us out ;). I always laugh so hard when I am around these two. It's so fun to find good lifelong couple friends.

So, here's your Maui guidebook! Enjoy.

First up is what I call the "Lava Rock Hike" and one of my favorite snorkeling coves. They are both located in South Kihei passed all of the gorgeous resorts (if you have any extra time, go walk along the beach to see these resorts from the beach. I walk from my parents place in Kihei to the resorts down south and they are seriously unreal. They better be at 500+ dollars a night ;). You follow the road all of the way down and you will come to the snorkeling cove, right next to Steven Tyler's home.  A little south of the snorkeling cove are the lava rocks--the Ahihi-Kinau Natural Area Reserve. A lot of it is closed off now (it wasn't a few years ago) to preserve the area down there and help growth, but you can still walk down and enjoy the gorgeous views and the cool lava rocks.

Favorite picture from the trip hahahahaha
