Battle Creek Falls // Utah Hiking

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #HydrationToGo #CollectiveBias

There is something so therapeutic about doing my exercise outside while doing hikes. I love being outside in nature while getting my exercise. It is peaceful, but rewarding at the same time. I love hikes. I love them! I did another awesome hike called Battle Creek Falls!
One important thing I need to remember as I embark on my "Hiking Extravaganzas (if you even want to call them that) is to bring water and other things to keep me hydrated and to keep my energy up. It is very dry here in Utah and I have to remember to stop and take drinks because I get light headed so easily in the high elevation and heat. So, for this hike, I put together a little pack to take with me. This pack is super simple and I just throw it into a backpack.

I shopped at CVS pharmacy to gather my Hydration Kit and went on my way!

Hiking Hydration Pack Tutorial

Step 1: Go to your local CVS pharmacy and grab any combination of smartwater, vitaminwater, Gold Peak and Honest Tea drinks. I use my ExtraCare card for the ExtraCare bucks. You can easily sign up for a CVS Extra Care card if they don't have one already and it's free! My personal favorites are smartwater and vitaminwater. I have found that CVS pharmacy is the one stop shop for everything I need to stay healthy for the summer as I prepare for these hikes.

I found these products in the Drinks Aisle at my local CVS pharmacy store.

Step 2: Collect your favorite combination of drinks. Pictured below are my favorite drinks.

Step 3: Add a healthy snack.
I always add a little snack to take with me just in case I need that extra boost. I found that this helps keep me healthy and happy along the way :) (the struggles of being hypoglycemic!)

Step 4: Put in your backpack and enjoy your smartwater. This is me loving my smartwater and drinking it BEFORE I head out on my hiking excursions. If I drink before, I find I am less dehydrated later. (this is the best picture I've ever taken--can't you tell I'm already sweaty just thinking about hiking in 90 degree weather!!!).

Also, right now you can purchase 4 smartwater, vitaminwater, Gold Peak and Honest Tea (any combination) with your CVS ExtraCare card for $5 and receive $2 off your next CVS visit. Deal is valid from 6/28-7/25.

I was ready to hit the hike!

Battle Creek Falls is located in Utah County. Drive up 200 South in Pleasant Grove until you hit the end of the road. The hike is perfect for kids and dogs! It was a great afternoon of exploring, that's for sure.

ENJOY YOUR HIKE!!!

Mid-Day Date with Yummy Treats!

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.  #ShareFunshine #CollectiveBias

One of the best parts about being a teacher is that on some days during the summer, I don't have to work. I get to spend time with T Money IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. Seriously, that is such an awesome perk. We don't just play all of the time (I wish) but sometimes, ya know, when its 100 degrees here in Utah, we take out our ice cream and spoil ourselves with delicious ice cream treats.

Some of our favorite frozen treats to cool down are the following items

SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars
Dr Pepper® Cherry & Dr Pepper® Sodas
LifeSavers Hard Candy Variety
Skittles
M&M's® Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich

We love to sit together and enjoy our "marital meetings" while eating these delicious ice cream treats with our yummy candy with them11

Side note: If you want to enjoy any of these items like we do, you can click HERE to get coupons (hello, cheaper food?! Who doesn't love it!) and enter to win 100 dollars to Walmart. Yes, please!!!

Specifically, One of our favorite ice cream treats that we like to make together on hot summer days is the "Dr. Pepper Cherry Float."

This is how we make it:
Step 1: Gather all materials- vanilla ice cream, Dr. Pepper Cherry soda, ice cream scoop, and a glass.

Step 2: Scoop 2 good size ice cream scoops into glass.

Step 3: Pour soda into glass until fizz starts (the fizz is the best part!!!)

 Step 4: Enjoy!!!!!

Such an easy and simple, yet delicious summer treat!

These items were found at our local Walmart located in the Soft Drinks aisle and Frozen Foods Aisle.

Also, be sure to download the Blippar app from your Apple or Android store to scan your package and receive exclusive content. And don't forget to click  here to receive instant savings on M&M's®, SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars, Dr Pepper® Cherry, Skittles®, Pedigree Dentastix®!

Pamper Yourself with Tom's of Maine!

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #NaturalGoodness #CollectiveBias

A lot has been going on in our lives. A lot.
I don't know about you guys, but when I am stressed, I like to pamper myself. I love to take baths, do my makeup, and really take care of myself, ya know?
I am grateful that I found Tom's of Maine to help with clean teeth. I'm a little OCD about my teeth. I tend to go to the dentist's office and I am cursed with cavities! Stupid genes. Tom's of Maine products will help with the cavity problem though.

I bought the children's silly strawberry to get my little sister in law to use it. She loves it! The other night, she asked if she could brush her teeth. I'm not sure what else makes an adult happier, am I right?

This may sound odd, but one of my favorite things to do in the morning is brush my teeth. I love the feeling of having fresh breath and Tom's definitely does that. I feel more awake and alive in the morning (especially because I am not a morning person! Haha!).

Tanner looooves when his teeth are clean after using Tom's. When Tanner is happy, I am happy!

What do you do to "pamper yourself" when you are stressed?

You can find these products under the "Anti Per-spirants and Toothpaste" aisle in your local Walmart.

Also, if you click here, you can get one dollar off any Tom's of Maine product purchase at Walmart.

Saylor Sue, The Things We Do For You.

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #nudgethemback #collectivebias

Saylor Sue (that's her middle name) is our (just barely one year old) mini aussie-doodle puppy.  We love her. A lot. Weird? I totally know. And totally don't even care.

T Money and I will be married two years in July (where does the time go?).
Sidenote: I have been begging for a puppy since I was a child and my parents never got me one because they are mean (just kidding, mom…kinda…still a little bit mad about it). I asked for two things growing up: a hot tub and a dog. Did I get either of those? Never. I had such a ruff life (get it? That was sarcasm by the way).
Anyway, I digress.
After a year of being around T Money and convincing him that I'm NOT crazy, that it was, in fact, just the birth control, and I felt like I had a hold on my life and marriage (well, as much as you can "get a hold of life and marriage" Ha! I laugh just thinking about it), we decided to take the next step in our lives together.

A Dog.

We started researching different dog breeds and a mini aussiedoodle wasn't even on our radar. But, one afternoon, after stopping by a Veterinary Office in Orem, we knew we had to get this little fluff ball. She was feisty, but sweet, smart and freaking cute and I knew she had to be ours.

I mean, come on…look at her! Who wouldn't want to take her home?!

In June, we will have had Saylor for a year. And my Instagram will show you just how much we love her. She's our little child. We have officially become those "crazy dog people."

Yea, we can make fun of ourselves for loving our puppy maybe a little too much, but if you've met Saylor, you can't help but love her. Yes, she tries to make out with you no matter your gender (and we are talking INSIDE the mouth--we've tried to train her out of this, but she's a stubborn cuss. Just like her momma.) and sure she will jump on you when she's excited, but she's just so hard to hate. Even though many of my in laws have tried, they just can't. She's a part of our family. And we love her.

Because we love her so much, we have to give her the best. And, well, that includes NEW delicious dog treats that are natural and don't have any artificial preservatives. Saylor Sue is kind of a diva (she's allergic to a lot of foods), we have to give her special treats that don't hurt her tummy. So we give her the Nudges Grillers Chicken and Steak dog treats at Walmart. She also likes the new Jerky Cuts at Walmart but the Grillers are her favorite. Because Saylor is so young, we use these treats to help with her training. They are the perfect incentive for her potty training and other tricks.

Ignore the creepy red eyes. Stupid flash.

Mmmmmm they smell so good.

One thing that I love about The Nudges® brand is that they are all about rewarding the unconditional love your dog gives you with treats you can trust. It's about celebrating the love you share, love that deserves to be rewarded. Also, because we love to keep Saylor happy, these treats help with the physical, emotional and social needs of our girl.

She begs for these things all of the time. It is the perfect training tool!

via instagram.
Even though T Money says he can't stand her…look at him hold her. He loves her.

We found these in the Pet Care section under "dog treats" at our local Walmart.

Check out all the flavors at nudgesdogtreats.com and let me know which one you think your dog would love the most!

The Cure for an Active Husband.

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MySignatureMove #CollectiveBias

I am an introvert. I know that this shocks many people that I am around, but, I promise that it is true. I love to cuddle up and watch Netflix, read a book, take a bath, go for a walk with my puppy, etc. I love to spend time alone. I truly love it. Especially after spending 8 hours a day with 12 year olds.

My husband, however, is an extrovert. He loves to be around people and BE MOVING. Holy cow, my husband is one of the most active people I know. He is always rock climbing, playing some sport, hiking, fishing, etc. I love it because it gets me out and moving.

I also don't love it because when he comes home, he is so incredibly stinky. Oh. My. Goodness. In fact, one time I sprayed him with Febreeze when he walked in. He loved that.
T Money loves to smell good. He doesn't like smelly anything. He is, actually, quite particular in his body wash smells. He has chosen Irish Spring Hydrating Body Wash and Bar Soap before and both of us love the smell!

Tanner is super stoked for his new yummy smells!!!

It smells so good that Saylor even wants a smell :)

I am so happy that I get a yummy smelling husband with these smells!

I found these products at my local Walmart in the "Hygiene--Body Wash" section.

Also, if you purchase one of the new Irish Spring Signature products, you will get $5 off a VUDU purchase! Take a picture of your receipt and then go to here to upload your receipt. Next step, enjoy watching!

It's Time to "Give Extra" Love to T Money.

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #ExtraGumMoments #CollectiveBias

There is something "Extra" special about the Holiday season, don't you think?
Everyone is just a little more kind, a little more giving, and a little more loving. I am grateful for this Christmas season because I get the opportunity to stop and think about the ones I love and the ones that have gone the extra mile for me.
More than anyone I know, T Money has done just this.
I am so swamped with teaching all day, and then going straight to rehearsal/my show that I am never home. We can't forget my workout time and young women's, too. Essentially, my whole world is constantly nonstop.
There have been countless days where I come home and the laundry is done and folded, the dog is clean and taken out, and the dishes are done. I am so grateful for all of the hard work that Tanner has taken so that I could have the time to enjoy my extracurricular activities.
I decided to give Tanner a little gift including a little christmas tree (we don't have room for a full blown tree in our teeny apartment) with a pack of yummy Watermelon Extra Gum. I know it's not big, but I wanted to let him know that I am grateful for all of the extra work he has done during this holiday season.

After all, it is the season of giving a little bit extra, right? :)
