Any reason why my Blogger account will not allow me to upload any more photos? It claims that I do not have any more storage in my goggle blogger account to upload any more? How do I delete some photos? Where are they? Why is it saying this? Ahhhh!!! Haha.
Help, oh ye wise and experienced bloggers! I'm a little incompetent when it comes to these things sometimes...

I wonder if blogger is just choosing random people to say this to? This popped up for me yesterday too. Way random. I talked to another blogger and she said she just pays the $2.50 a month for space.. which is way lame and I refuse to do because I am cheap. So... have you ever used photobucket? If you upload your photos onto your photobucket account, when you view the photo- over to the right will be 4 different spots for types of codes. Click on the html code and it will be copied. Now go to blogger where you create your new post- up in the left corner will be an html box, click on that and then copy the code from photobucket into the main text box area. Once you do that, go back up to the left corner and click compose and your photo should be there. --basically you have to start using html code to post your photos rather than downloading it straight to blogger.. confusing I know but it is the only way I have figured it out without paying. If you need more help, feel free to message me :)
ReplyDeleteI just got that message as well. Curious that we are all hitting our storage limit at the same time. I went through and deleted about 30 photographs from old posts, and then tried uploading again, and it still says I'm using 100% of my storage. Hmm... Very frustrating. The Photobucket solution sounds complicated, but doable. An unfortunate wrinkle in my blogging plans. If I figure anything else out, I'll let you know.
ReplyDeleteThis happened to me a year ago. If you pay, it is only five dollars for a specific amount of space {which took me four years to get to, so it wasn't that bad of deal}. OR! You can just add another gmail account and make it an author of this blog. You can also do the Photobucket thing.
ReplyDeletei got the same issue and just linked it my blog with only my blog email. i've thought about photobucket, but its so annoying!

I got this message too! I have been hosting my photos on other sites, mainly on FB in a album that's set for my viewing only. Then on blogger when you go to upload a photo I go to the option that says "from a URL," and paste the URL.
ReplyDeleteAhhh! That happened to me too! Okay, once I figured out how to delete some (and I don't remember now), but when you post on your blog a lot, it's better to just pay for a Google plan. I think we pay like 2.70 ish a month- so it's not bad at all. It's less than $3!
ReplyDeleteThis happened to me too. So annoying. I now use Flickr to host my photos. It's extra work but what can you do?
ReplyDeleteYour comment on my blog totally made me smily (but you're a no-reply blogger, so I couldn't respond! :( ) Anyway. This totalyl happened to me. Solution: upload your pictures to photobucket (I used flickr for awhile, but they have a max. amount of photos you can upload per month without paying, and I exceeded that too...photobucket is just free). After you upload them, copy the html code of your photo and paste it into your blog post (not on the "compose" box, but click on html first, then paste). Does that make sense? The photos are better quality too, as opposed to directly upoloading them to blogger.
ReplyDeletefor real. Happened to me too and my two sisters all within two weeks of each other...strange

ReplyDeletei love your darling blog and i'm so happy to have discovered it!
new follower..xo chaseandem.blogspot.com
You have to buy more or delete old posts to free space ;(
ReplyDeletewhat the french? seriously? i didn't know blogger was doing this. it must be something new and whoever is in charge of google plus which i severely dislike. looking through the above comments i use two gmail accounts that are both authors of my blog, so maybe that's why i haven't reached my storage limit, because i seriously host all my photos through blogger. if i were you i would go the photobucket route although it will be an extra step... lame, google! so lame.
ReplyDeleteYah... I just forked over the $2.50 a month to upload the photos. I figured not stresseing about it was worth more than that much.
ReplyDeletei just redid my blog and was clicking through older comments (you commented on a beach post of mine from the summer), and i can answer this! make a new post and click to add a new picture. then you'll notice in the upload box on the side you can click "from this blog," which will show you all of your previous uploads. above your images it'll say: "These images are also available to view and share in Picasa Web Albums, Google's free photo hosting service." click that link. you'll then see all of your blogger albums (named for your blogs and one that has your profile pictures). click on the one you want to delete from, then click on a photo. to delete it, go to "actions" then "delete this photo." chances are, you'll have things you can clear out. if you've ever uploaded an image then deleted it and didn't post it, it's still on this picasa album. same for if you deleted previous posts.
ReplyDeletegood luck!
