Ainge Reunion 2016: Crescent Lake, OR (The Cabin!)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I LOVE our family cabin in Oregon. I have so many fond memories at this place as a child. I spent so many summers swimming, boating, sunbathing, and playing on the dock. Every year, my brothers and sisters gather together for our family reunion at the cabin. I am the youngest of five children and all of my siblings are married/have children, so our family of 21 (and growing!) means that evenings at the cabin are a little loud and hectic. It's chaos, but it sure is fun. Below are some awesome pictures of my beautiful nieces and nephews and family members.

How can you not be happy being in a cabin in the forest on a lake in beautiful Oregon with beautiful nieces and nephews?!

President's/Valentine's Day Weekend!

Over President's Day and Valentine's Day, it was a long weekend. Some friends of ours have a cabin at Brian Head Ski Resort down by Cedar City, Utah. We packed our bags and had a mini getaway. It was such a fun weekend of skiing, playing games with our favorite couple friends Josh and Carli, and watching movies (that's pretty much all we did!). We went to church in a little town hall and everyone was in their snow gear. It was AWESOME. The service was 45 minutes and my little heart was so happy (but seriously? Why isn't sacrament meeting only 45 minutes? Church needs to be 2 hours. I will make this happen, guys). My first day back not he slopes in a few years--I taught myself to ski my freshman year of college--I did not fall. I was only going down green, but hey, I loved being out on the mountains again! I had a little anxiety attack out on the mountain on our second day. I think my legs were tired, I was tired, and I hadn't slept. It was cold and I seemed to just be struggling a bit, so I kind of shut down. Not my finest hour. Overall, though, my first day back on the slopes in a few years and I did okay!! Woot. (It's the small battles that we overcome, right?)

Trip Recap: Oregon Part I

If any of you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I had the most fun summer ever! T Money and I were gone for most of the summer on vacations with the family. We ended our summer (because I am back at school with teacher meetings, etc. grrrrr) with a trip to San Diego. Our next stop was Oregon. Now, most of you know that I am from Portland, but we weren't really in Portland for most of this time. We went to my cabin, my favorite place in the world, at Crescent Lake. I spent so many summer days at this place. I have so many fond memories of swimming, getting on Irv, the old row boat, skinny dipping, riding sea-doos and boating, playing cards, and late night skits at this cabin. It's so fun to be the "adult" here, with all of my nieces and nephews running around. I am the youngest of five children and I have three sisters with children, so we have tons of little ones running around.
Let's be real here for a sec, my family has a really hard time being together without fighting, and for the most part, we survived with no fights. It's a miracle!!! Woooo hoooo. No, in all seriousness though, I do love my family and am grateful for their beautiful children, sarcastic humor, and good times at the cabin. There were so many good pictures that I didn't know which ones to pick, so I am going to do a Part I and Part II. Yes, I even had to cut down pictures for these two posts. So many cute pictures!
